Our Services

My project-1 (2).jpg

Radiating Joy Mental Health Services is an adult (18yo+) psychiatric practice that offers psychopharmacologic and therapeutic treatment to optimize mental health. Tenisha provides medication management for depression and anxiety disorders. The majority of her clients are working professionals and college/graduate students. Most of her clients receive weekly talk therapy through another provider

What is the process?

Typically, the first session is an exploratory session where the provider gathers the client’s biopsychosocial history. Tenisha starts with an evaluation to better understand both the client’s current complaint and symptom history, as well as medical history, substance use, and other relevant factors.

If a pertinent medical history prevents treatment you will be advised to follow up with an outside provider before following up. If not, she presents a diagnosis and treatment options including medication if indicated.

Before leaving the session, you will receive an explanation for why a particular medication is being prescribed, potential side effects, and potential benefits and risks. She is open to all questions and wants you to be comfortable with your treatment plan before the session ends. If medication is prescribed, she then schedules regular follow-up appointments to understand the client's response to the medication and to make adjustments when needed.

Your overall well-being — physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually — affects every aspect of your life.

Mindfulness and Meditation

If you strive to experience peace of mind, you should practice mindfulness.  Mindfulness and meditation can help you relax, as well as teach you to be unconditionally present. The latter, helps you to be present in the moment and experience and benefit from discomfort, if it exists.  Instead of trying to avoid or deny it, experiencing discomfort is part of being human.  Mindfulness is being aware of  your thoughts or feelings and accepting them.
